HSBC Group Service Centre in Visakhapatnam and Andhra University School Distance Education have collaborated to launch a special distance education curriculum for the benefit of those students who would like to earn while they learn. The programme was launched five years ago and it arms the student with a degree in B.Com (Customer Service Management) from AU and also gives an opportunity to gain invaluable work experience from one of the world's leading banking and financial services organisations.


To enrol for this course the students have to appear for a qualifying round on English language skills and keyboard skills. The selected candidates are then allowed to join the B.Com (CSM) programme being offered by AUSDE and also absorbed as part- time apprentice by HSBC Group Service Centre-Visakhapatnam with a monthly stipend. The organisation also absorbs 50 per cent of the tuition fees payable. On completion, of the course, the candidates can continue working with HSBC Group Service Centre unless otherwise.


Course details


The B.Com (CSM) programme is spread over 3 academic years. It comprises of 23 papers for 2,200marks (including project report and viva-voce). The classes are conducted for 40 days in an academic year, between September and February. In a week the students itinerary comprises of two-day programme on campus and three days of apprenticeship. Industry experts and seniors from HSBC Group Service Center-Visakhapatnam assist the university academicians in conducting training sessions as well as evaluating the papers.

Application forms can be purchased from the School of Distance Education, Andhra University. The selection process is scheduled for June 8 at Satavahana College, Vijayawada, June 9 at Govt. Arts College, Rajahmundry, and June 11 and 12 at the School of Distance Education, Andhra University.
