Tips for students joining college-
Most students, experience a sense of freedom as soon as they step into college thinking that they have crossed over the greatest ocean on the earth by clearing plus tow exams. In the process of savouring the freedom few get carried away into several unwanted problems.
Although it is a to time relish on some freedom, it is very important to know the boundary limits on various spheres of life since it is very critical period of life. If not watchful and resolute, it is easy to be carried away by carelessness, lethargy and immaturity.
Always, step into college with respect of the highest order, sincere desire to study and treat college as a temple of learning. Having other ulterior motive behind would certainly reflect the life in the next few years after coming out of college. Those students who werent equally intelligent yet worked hard would have surpassed the intelligent. It is not the intelligence that matters, but the attitude to work hard methodically.
With quiet a few practicals around in college mere passing wouldnt be enough to acquire good positions. Good grades with lot of employable skills would do better for jobs and further higher studies.
After grown up so big, it very important to act with maturity. Shun away from some child play, carefree and frolic lifestyle that was with you until in school. Remember, it is an important phase of preparing for the future; the responsibility is so great with all the parents hoping for a change in the lifestyle through your education. Some parents even make huge sacrifices by pledging properties to give children education. So think and act. Let not the ecstasy of being in college drift you away from your goals.
Discipline, character, obedience and education are some the wealth that one needs to acquire during their college days. Anything deviating from this would certainly ruin the life, although they may be intelligent.
Students, beware of carelessness of character. Be careful about temptations like mediocrity, rebellion, dishonesty, laziness, irregularity, antipathy, negligence, irresponsibility, selfishness and infidelity.
Dont be slackened, as you are on the threshold of life full of challenges in the wide world. Soon you will be out in the quest of employment in a world that has lot of opportunities, yet with unemployment for want of character, right attitude, discipline and integrity.
Nobody will employ a person with incorrect attitude though they might be smart and clever. Some have less accomplishment to their credit but are greatly esteemed in the society, loved by many and attain great heights because of their character.
Do not think that one must be erratic to be brilliant or eccentric to be noted. These are actually psychological abnormalities arising due to self-confidence and self-discipline. Always remember to be levelheaded never losing the basic common sense.
Next to last, respect your lecturers, professors, vice-principals, principals and all elders. Do unto others those things for the same would come back to you one day. In the name fun and frolic do not lose basic values and norms.
Last of all, have respect for both the genders. Do not indulge in ragging or eve teasing, as it is inhumane.
